It’s been a little over a year since I’ve started this site. It originated as Fireworks & Leftovers – Vibrant Perspectives on Everyday Life & Leftovers. It was a creative outlet for me to share my positive perspectives about life and love for food with my friends and family and anyone who would happen to stumble into my little hub on the internet.
But as I continued to grow and write and embrace new relationships and experiences, I began to feel like there was something more, something a little different that I was meant to do with this online space I had created.
A big shift happened while attending Business Boutique in Nashville. Attending that conference was a total God thing – everything from being invited to attend with a friend, having the support and means to travel hundreds of miles away from home and the timing of the event in relation to the inklings that kept popping up in my heart suggesting that I was meant to do more.
It wasn’t just the content that was shared at the conference or the experience of traveling across the country without my family (which was a first for me) that brought about this new shift. It wasn’t just the energy that consumed a 3,000+ seat auditorium or the adventure of getting to visit a city that was on my travel bucket list.
I can’t quite put my finger on what it was about that experience that created this shift but there was a reason that opportunity was placed in front of me and I’m so glad I said yes.
That shift led to this. Firework Philosophy.
You may have noticed the new URL and logo at the top of the site but you’ll still find a lot of the same content – the good and not-so-good stuff, tips for working mom life and quick and easy recipes (because I love food so much I can’t help but share about it). You’ll also find a new page on the site, Fireworks Marketing – a new adventure that allows me to live out my passion for sharing the stories of small businesses.
The blog, my writing, my interest in marketing – it all revolves around story sharing.
What is story sharing?
It’s my belief that we were created to share our story with the world.
How, when and with whom we go about doing that is unique to each and every one of us. For me, it’s with this blog and emails and social media. For another, it may be through creating music. For someone else it may be speaking on a stage.
When we share our story – our experiences and expertise – it allows others to learn and grow and it enriches their lives in whatever way it’s meant to in that moment.

Story Sharing vs. Storytelling
You may assume the concept of story sharing is synonymous with storytelling. But for me, they’re different.
My purpose is not to tell a story. There are no dramatic plot twists or grand embellishments. The kind of stories I share are not works of fiction.
My purpose is to share a story – mine and others. Story sharing is about the deeper meaning. It’s true and real. It’s the story that is created when you dig deep into your heart and soul and unleash the “why” – the purpose for doing what you do.
As far as my story…this newly named site is a culmination of me sharing my story as a working mom who loves to cook (and eat), who always has a positive perspective and who relishes at all there is to learn in life. It also includes Fireworks Marketing which allows me to live out my passion for sharing others’ stories too.

I love this so much! Sharing instead of telling. So good!
