Well, hey there friends! I’ve missed you. It’s been a while since I’ve hung out in this little corner of the internet. I’ve been thinking about you and how you may be wondering if I’ve fallen off the face of the earth.
I’ve been feeling a little guilty that I haven’t kept up with sharing my random insights, Farmer approved recipes and life’s randomness here lately. Let’s just say the past few months have been a little atypical.
I like to call what I’ve been experiencing a season of life – a time when shifts happen, when new perspectives and habits take root, when you adjust your focus.
If you care to know, here’s what we’ve had going on in our neck of the woods…
Baby #2 is Coming in March
This little nugget of news has been the primary reason for my disappearance during the past few months. I’ve been focusing on my health and using my (minimal) energy as efficiently as possible.
I am not one of those mamas who loves being pregnant. Don’t get me wrong, I love our kiddos unconditionally and I know in the end the squishy, cuddly baby is so worth it but man, pregnancy is rough for me. Fortunately, this time around hasn’t been as debilitating as my pregnancy with Little E but it’s a challenge to constantly feel nauseous not be able to operate at 110% throughout the day.
Since I’ve been having to preserve every ounce of energy I have to keep my family fed and happy, my work taken care and my house habitable, there hasn’t been a whole lot of extra brain power or ambition for other things.
Thankfully, many of the first trimester symptoms are subsiding so I’ve had a little more pep in my step lately.
Little E is so excited to welcome “her baby” to our family and The Farmer and I are so excited as well. We can’t wait until this time next year when we’ll have another little pumpkin to paint.

It’s Harvest Season
Tis the season for late nights for The Farmer. Random meal times. Bushels of dirty work jeans. Stray corn kernels and soybeans rolling around our kitchen and laundry room floors.
Let’s just say I’m looking forward to winter when harvest is over and The Farmer is typically home when we get home at the end of the day. I love it when we can all be home for dinner and hunker down in our cozy little farmhouse for the night.
Little E Started Preschool
This is Little E’s first year in preschool and she is loving it! It’s been so incredible to observe her learning and growth and it seems like she comes home every day singing a new song she learned.
There’s a special place in heaven for teachers because I would never be able to handle the energy and emotions of dozens of children all day long.

This new season of life has included a little bit of everything – new and unfamiliar, frustrations and joys, fears and excitement, disappointment and appreciation.
With any and every season, there is always something to be grateful for. Always a way to seek hope and excitement. Always a way to pursue and live out your purpose.
What have you been up to lately? Are you experiencing a new season of life too?
