September has come and gone along with the books, memories and learnings that have taken place throughout the month. I’m so ready for Rocktober (subscribe to my emails to learn what that means) but I’m not jumping into the new month without first sharing with you my Five Firework Favorites from September 2018.
#1 The Why Not Now? Podcast
I was searching for a bit more variety in my podcast library and discovered the Why Not Now? podcast with Amy Jo Martin.
She’s been a guest on the Business Boutique podcast with Christy Wright and she’s interviewed Jenna Kutcher who has the Goal Digger Podcast and Lewis Howes who has The School of Greatness Podcast – all of whom I love.
Amy Jo is empowering and encouraging in a calm and subtle kind of way and her guests are equally so. I think you’ll enjoy it too!
#2 Girl, Wash Your Face
Yes, I’ve jumped on the Rachel Hollis bandwagon, and for good reason. The words and wisdom she shares in her book are pure goodness.
They are the kind of words that are sweet, energizing and sustaining, not the glossy, artificial fluff that sounds nice but is void of any value. I wrote about my perspective of the book in this blog post – Why “Girl, Wash Your Face” Isn’t A Cupcake.
#3 The Magnolia Table
I’ve been making many recipes from my Magnolia Table cookbook lately. The Lemon Bars – so simple! The Spinach Artichoke Dip – so amazing! The Country Potato Soup – so delicious!
I recently shared 5 Reasons Why You Need the Magnolia Table Cookbook but every single recipe in the book should count as a reason too! Your kitchen needs this cookbook!
#4 Jacket Weather
I’m typically a fair-weather fan when it comes to outdoor fun. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy all the seasons we get to experience here in Nebraska – I love soaking up the mid-summer sun and tromping through a fresh winter snow but the first few days of fall, when all you need is a jacket, have been glorious.
We spent one of our recent weekends at home swinging in the backyard (multiple times). Little E just couldn’t get enough of the cooler fall weather and going “higher, higher” in the swing.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again friends, it’s the little things in life.
#5 Fall Wardrobe
With fall’s arrival, it was time to bust out the fall wardrobe. Every year towards the end of summer, I am chomping at the bit to wear sweaters, tights and boots. They’re just so comfortable, warm and cozy…need I say more?
I did just replace two pairs of boots that were worn and torn and needed to be put to rest. I found two new pairs from Kohl’s which is where I found the best selection for the style, color and price I was looking for.
What have been some of your favorite things this past month? Let me know in the comments below!
I am loving the cupcake boom! And I love miss E and her smiles!
Mmmm. Cupcakes!
